Our cozy mystery romance series Villa Hilda wins at Seriesly Berlin

The series (8 x 22’) is about disgraced celebrity chef Louise and burned-out one hit-wonder author Thomas escape their mid-life (and other) crises to run a small hotel and restaurant on a remote island. When their past catches up on them, there’s nowhere to hide – so they finally have to confront their shortgivings and mistakes to learn how to love, forgive and forget.

Villa Hilda

Here is the jury motivation:
“The Jury Prize goes to a project that offers audiences a rare gift: a sense of lightness and hope. It invites viewers into a romantic comedy series where the weight of everyday life gives way to healing from loss, rediscovering self-belief, and starting anew. We were impressed by the clarity of the pitch and the creators’ vision for an ensemble of characters who together shape a world that is both clearly defined and emotionally engaging. The depth of each of those characters was significant. Contemporary in theme, spanning generations, and rooted in a genre that resonates across borders, the project also carries strong commercial promise. For this balance of heart, craft, and reach, the Main Award goes to Villa Hilda.” Read more on Cineuropa.
